Collodian wet-plate process - The best of both techniques. It produced clear image that could be reproduced multiple times. The plate had to be dipped in silver nitrate, inserted into the camera and exposed. It is then developed quickly after and was allowed to dry. If it dried before the process was finished, the photo would be messed up.
